Construction is the practical application of architecture,” says Suzanne Caldwell, the Project Administrator at WORKS. Suzanne should know because she previously worked for an architect for 8 years and has earned credits toward an architectural degree at Boston Architectural College, having completed her BA at Plymouth State College.

Suzanne grew up in construction in the Boston area, helping her fathers and brothers at their electrical contracting firm which handled mostly commercial projects. In her position at WORKS, she takes care of all the paperwork for every project, including writing the contract, change orders and invoices; keeping track of time, materials and budget; and managing the office. She likes residential projects, she states, because they are more personal, with more direct contact with clients.

In fact, if you have a project with us, Suzanne will be your prime source of information on any questions you might have about a contract, change order or invoice. If she can’t answer your question, she’ll find someone who can. We rely on her to organize the details so that we always respond quickly throughout your project.

Suzanne’s favorite era of architecture is Early American Colonial, not surprising for someone who grew up in Somerville and has lived in Manchester-by-the-Sea for over a decade. “I’m impressed with what the Colonial builders could do with the resources they had,” Suzanne explains. “They were the original environmentalists. I like taking old places and making them work in modern life. I’ve always liked residential construction and organizing spaces to make them more livable.”

A member and officer of the Manchester Mother’s Club, which helps new mothers connect with each other, Suzanne has been instrumental in the club’s charitable work, including organizing events like Books for Babies and fund-raising for other organizations. She has served as co-president, advertising chair and fund-raising chair.

A vital part of the WORKS team and the North Shore community, Suzanne Caldwell is at your service for your home construction, renovation or remodel.
