Outdoor Construction in the Winter? No Problem!

Our guys are tough. Here we are still surrounded by snow, and three of the WORKS crew are framing gable windows and installing a dormer ridge. It takes special preparation and care, from the right clothes to the right products, to handle outdoor construction projects in winter.
While there are outdoor projects that WORKS won’t take on in snow season (because they aren’t safe or lead to poor quality results), we don’t shy away from winter construction. We take advantage of those clear, sunny days that are so frequent on the North Shore of Boston; and we have alternatives ready if the weather refuses to cooperate. (In fact snow is actually easier to work in than heavy rain or ice.)
More important, we know which products and technologies are best suited to winter construction so that the final renovation, new build or addition is structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing.
We urge our homeowners in Gloucester, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Essex and throughout Boston’s North Shore to use the winter to complete planning, design and financing for their construction project, and that way we can start building as early as possible in the spring.
